Goal fatigue and how to overcome it.



At some point in life, we get so far into achieving a goal that everything else is left behind, and it is precisely in that state of flux or flow, that we can lose ourselves in the objective of the path through life. While it is true that life demands certain levels of efficiency and productivity from us, the objective of life is to achieve the long-awaited well-being of life.

But many times we associate this well-being exclusively with economic productivity, and we forget that well-being has different components, which are not limited to economic or labor well-being. Having a full savings account and an emotional, family, empty life usually ends badly, and this because emotional riches cannot be acquired with money.

We must be attentive to the signs that show us that we are subtracting from the general well-being, and not adding. And take corrective measures before damaging our health or interpersonal relationships.


What is goal fatigue?


Goal fatigue, also known as achievement fatigue or goal a motivation, is a psychological phenomenon in which a person experiences tiredness, demotivation, or mental exhaustion due to the constant pursuit and pursuit of goals or achievements. Goal fatigue can arise when goals are set that are too ambitious or when there is constant pressure to achieve results. And keep in mind that life has aspects that cannot be recovered, given the brevity and irreversibility of lost time. You won't be able to buy that first word from your child, or their first steps. And not to mention the endless valuable experiences, emotionally speaking, that can be generated in our interpersonal relationships.

And of course, it makes sense to have a life that you cannot enjoy due to lack of time, even to enjoy your leisure time and recreation, which are what give life flavor.
